i am LIVID!!!!

i helped a friend move the last 2 days

at least the weather has been good

mid 50's both days

i go out Sat @ 5:15 AM

come home Sun @ minight

got out Mon at 10 AM

get home Tues at midnight

so, since i haven't been home

i haven't got food cooked

need dinner tonite & food for FOUR days

it's 8:15 PM

so i went to Wendy's

ordered 4 grilled chicken sandwiches

(gonna eat JUST the chicken)

4 baked potatoes

2 chili (dinner tonite)

a coke - yeah .. trying to quit

cost $24 & some change

paid with a $50

did i look at the money as the kid gave it back to me

NO!!!

did i get a receipt

NO!!!!!!!!!!

the guy at the window handed me 2 bags &

told me that was EVERYTHING
when i asked if that was all

i get home

thro the 2 bags in the fridge

do laundry

only have ONE pair of jeans i can fit into &

wore them yesterday when we started moving

so the NEED to be washed

took a shower

got in my jammies

packed the bag

packed knitting

found the patterns i wanted to use

went in search of needles i needed

went to pack the FOOD

so i can go to bed

it is NOW 10:15 PM

i STILL have to fix 3 nails & polish them

maybe the chili will be breakfast tomoro morning

so i grab the 2 bags from the fridge

and the lunchbag & yogurt

i have 4 baked potatoes

so i go to get the receipt out of my purse to call & complain

i got $15 - NO receipt .. i SHOULD have $25

so i find the phone book and call

no one answers

i will NOT be home till TUES to actually go into the store

to complain

it ridiculous

$35 for 4 potatoes & a coke

well ...
i lost the yarn i bought to be i i-cord
bought more and decided i liked my FIRST choice better
wanted 1019 soft brown
will have to order it
so, until i get the yarn i need to finish it
the bag & the yarn i have, the needled & the pattern
are in a 2.5 gallons Zipper Bag
will have to get the deco ribbon for the inside of the flap
then i will have to decide WHAT to do about handles
i PREFER straps
not sure what i will embellish with
thinkin' fall leaves in the yarn colors i used
bought several marls that mite work
maybe i can find the print

RATZ!!!

i am done knitting the bag 11:32 PM

can't find the Marl for the i-cord

will have to go BUY more tomoro

this was taken before i started knitting tonite

@ 9:45 PM ( Tues 12-27)

so

i need to take a pic of the English Garden before i resume knitting it
then another when i am done for the nite

bought a 29" # 11 circ for the Bjork

JUST in case i can't find the ones i have

i REALLY should start getting the bins in the yarn room filled up

as i fill them

the house gets cleaned up

will have a drawer for needles

then WHEN i want them

i will know where they are

YEAH!!!

if i do NOT have multiple UFO's goin'

used ther 20% off coupon from Bed, Bath & Beyond
it was a struggle to get it assembled

the goal is to be able to wear a swimsuit ASAP

i will be overniting in Dallas, Austin, New Orleans, Fort Myers in Jan

who KNOWS where in Feb

so i want to get into shape IF the temps are hi enuff that i can get into a pool

now i am gonna knit

mite be able to finish the English Garden Bag

Laundry is almost done

dinner was chili & baked potato from Wendy's

purse liner

i gotta carry my purse for work

i knit the pockets to be atached to a purse

just NEVER made the purse

so i am thinkin'

IF i knit a liner for the WORK purse

i could use it EVERYDAY

then i can make a detachable strap

when i am not on a plane OR in a terminal

i can carry the liner as a purse

it would have the pockets with ALL the important stuff in it

of course,

i COULD knit the liner in a BOLD color

only I would know

the BOLD purse would be carried with me at all times

just disguised as a WORK purse

i really shouldn't think

it gets me into trouble

i have ENUFF things to do

but ..

i LOVE a challenge

time to do SOMETHING

i have wasted the day

the EAR is bothering me again

i SHOULD go to the clinic

will have to take jingle bells with me when i go visit again

they turned out smaller than i hoped for

IF no one gets married or has another baby

i COULD make 4 more for munchkins

We finished up the Christmas pud and ate the turkey cold.

On the fifth day of Christmas outside the snowflakes flurried

But we were nice and warm inside - we ate the turkey - curried.

On the sixth day of Christmas the turkey spirit died.

The children fought and bickered and we ate the turkey - fried.

On the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave a wince

When he sat down to dinner and was given turkey mince.

On the eighth day of Christmas the dog ran off for shelter

I served up turkey pancakes and a glass of Alka Seltzer.

On the ninth day of Christmas poor Dad began to cry

He said he couldn't stand the strain of eating turkey pie.

On the tenth day of Christmas the air was rather blue

And everybody grumbled at eating turkey stew.

On the eleventh day of Christmas the Christmas tree was moulting

Mince pies as hard as rock and the turkey quite revolting.

On the twelfth day of Christmas at last Dad smacked his lips

The guests had gone, the turkey too - we dined on fish and chips!

WHO-HOO .. DRACO can fly again

a while back

DRACO lost an ear

i looked but could not find it

i have been knitting stockings so i didn't have time to

knit a new ear for DRACO

well

how long does a dragon ear take

anyways ..

last weekend i knit 2

then comes the dilemma

HOW to felt them

they are kinda small

TOOO much of a waste of water AND energy to wait

and felt in the washer

then it hit me as i was heating water for tea

use some of the HOT water & cup

in a 2nd cup

add water & ice

dip the ears from one to another

add a but of friction

so, i felted the new ears

tonite

as i am packing to go

i find the ear DRACO lost in my RON bag

so,

now the ears are sewn on tight

the wings were starting to come loose

THEY are on tight too

so, on Sat Dec 23

DRACO will fly again

he is happy to NOT be spending Christmas at home alone

he is excited about the NEW places i go in Jan

i gotta finish packing

Chocolate Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas and all round my hips

Were Fannie May candies that sneaked past my lips.

Fudge brownies were stored in the freezer with care,

In hopes that my thighs would forget they were there.

While Mama in her girdle and I in chin straps

Had just settled down to sugar-borne naps.

When out in the pantry there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the kitchen I flew like a flash,

Tore open the icebox then threw up the sash.

The marshmallow look of the new-fallen snow

Sent thoughts of a binge to my body below.

When what to my wandering eyes should appear:

A marzipan Santa with eight chocolate reindeer!

That huge chunk of candy so luscious and slick

I knew in a second that I'd wind up sick.

The sweet-coated Santa, those sugared reindeer,

I closed my eyes tightly but still I could hear;

On Pritzker, on Stillman, on weak one, on TOPSA

Weight Watcher dropout from sugar detox.

From the top of the scales to the top of the hall

Now dash away pounds; now dash away all.

Dressed up in Lane Bryant from my head to nightdress

My clothes were all bulging from too much excess.

My droll little mouth and my round little belly

They shook when I laughed like a bowl full of jelly.

I spoke not a word but went straight to my work

Ate all of the candy then turned with a jerk.

And laying a finger beside my heartburn

Gave a quick nod toward the bedroom I turned.

I eased into bed, to the heavens I cry

If temptation's removed I'll get thin by and by.

And I mumbled again as I turned for the night

"In the morning I'll starve...

'til I take that first bite!"

T'was the night before Christmas and Santa's a wreck...

How to live in a world that's politically correct?

His workers no longer would answer to "Elves".

"Vertically Challenged" they were calling themselves.

And labor conditions at the north pole

Were alleged by the union to stifle the soul.

Four reindeer had vanished, without much propriety,

Released to the wilds by the Humane Society.

And equal employment had made it quite clear

That Santa had better not use just reindeer.

So Dancer and Donner, Comet and Cupid,

Were replaced with 4 pigs, and you know that looked stupid!

The runners had been removed from his sleigh;

The ruts were termed dangerous by the E.P.A.

And people had started to call for the cops

When they heard sled noises on their roof-tops.

Second-hand smoke from his pipe had his workers quite frightened.

His fur trimmed red suit was called "Unenlightened."

And to show you the strangeness of life's ebbs and flows,

Rudolf was suing over unauthorized use of his nose

And had gone on Geraldo, in front of the nation,

Demanding millions in over-due compensation.

So, half of the reindeer were gone; and his wife,

Who suddenly said she'd had enough of this life,

Joined a self-help group, packed, and left in a whiz,

Demanding from now on her title was Ms.

And as for the gifts, why, he'd ne'er had a notion

That making a choice could cause so much commotion.

Nothing of leather, nothing of fur,

Which meant nothing for him. And nothing for her.

Nothing that might be construed to pollute.

Nothing to aim. Nothing to shoot.

Nothing that clamored or made lots of noise.

Nothing for just girls. Or just for the boys.

Nothing that claimed to be gender specific.

Nothing that's warlike or non-pacific.

No candy or sweets...they were bad for the tooth.

Nothing that seemed to embellish a truth.

And fairy tales, while not yet forbidden,

Were like Ken and Barbie, better off hidden.

For they raised the hackles of those psychological

Who claimed the only good gift was one ecological.

No baseball, no football...someone could get hurt;

Besides, playing sports exposed kids to dirt.

Dolls were said to be sexist, and should be passé;

And Nintendo would rot your entire brain away.

So Santa just stood there, disheveled, perplexed;

He just could not figure out what to do next.

He tried to be merry, tried to be gay,

But you've got to be careful with that word today.

His sack was quite empty, limp to the ground;

Nothing fully acceptable was to be found.

Something special was needed, a gift that he might

Give to all without angering the left or the right.

A gift that would satisfy, with no indecision,

Each group of people, every religion;

Every ethnicity, every hue,

Everyone, everywhere...even you.

So here is that gift, it's price beyond worth...
