pattern gauge is 2 st / in
my gauge is 2.5 st / in
total stitches is 171
divide by 2 sides = 85" side in gauge
with MY gauge it will be about 69 " per side
to get the same side i would need to have 213 stitches
which would mean ONE MORE SKEIN
and 21 more rows = almost three more pattern repeats
RATZ!!!!!!!!!
should have bought a 36" # 15 needle to get the rite size shawl
oh welll
EVIL GRIN
just gives me an excuse to make another pattern
i vowed i would NOT buy yarn for an entire project
until i used what i already have
i didn't have to pay for the pattern
i had the needles
so the shawl is costing me ONLY time
