about the time the guys showed up at the gate yesterday
i thought i was about done with the bag
NOPE!!!
i missread the pattern
about 20 rows to go
then the shaping
so, i am about halfway
had i read the pattern correctly
i could have knit for the 30 minutes after
they got there before the plane did
i KNEW the FO
flew with him 2 or 3 times
thought i knew the Cpt
he said no, we haven't flown together
the FA said the same thing
inflight, i realized i have flown with the FA
on the shuttle back to the car
the Cpt i realized we HAD flown together
one leg in March when i got SSSOOO sick on the plane
and found out i had Bronchitis
they were a fun crew to fly with
2 days off
then i get to FLY again
WHO - HOOOOOOOO

comin' home

so as we are getting close to Indy
i realize we are getting low
you can SEE it
there was a little boy in 3D
he asked if we would see the track
told him usually NOT
to mess with him, i pointed out a High School Track
saw the RCA Dome
it was HUGE!!!!
we were circleing at that point
we RARELY do that
other passengers told the boy
we WOULD see the track
we did
it was HUGE!!!!!
he was thrilled to get to see it
several passengers remarked in all the times
they have come INTO Indy
they never got to see the track
too bad i could take pix
it was NEAT!!!

knitting in JFK

so, i was sitting at the gate in JFK
passengers saw me knitting and asked what it was
several assumed a baby blanket, by the color
found out that effective July 1
Smoking will be BANNED in bars & pubs in England
a nice lady that quilts sat
and talked to me off and on
she was in NYC to meet her first GREAT-grandchild
she was on the way home to GA
forget where around Atlanta she lives
somewhere around Deb
anyway
we talked about knitting and sewing
she has never seen circular needles
she has never felted
when we got into the air
i got her a cup of coffee
she said it tREALLY tasted good
better than most airline coffee
she was an enjoyable lady to talk to

What I did before 10 am this morning

New stitch markers are too small
so i had to improvise
my needles are size 11

so, today, i get to ride to JFK
sit for about 4 1/2 hours
fly to ATL
sit for 1 1/2 hours
Fly home
so, i started the bag for my Spring Felted Swap
Channon will be proud of me
i got this far before 10 am

downtown indy

the White Dot in the middle of the pic

Spring into Summer Dishcloth

1 dishcloth i made
it's a Summer theme
so it's a Sun in SUNSHINE Yellow cotton
2 a skein of cotton
3 a soap
4 something to eat
5 a pattern for a dishcloth
i included THIS one
i created it for another swap
there is also a scrubby in there - at the top
keeps anything from popping out
YEAH, like that would happen
it's packed TIGHT!!!!
put the lid on to apease the postal people
it isn't needed
and a note from me
i typed it, i can't read my OWN handwriting somedays
NOW to go see how convoluted the
NEW postal rates are
oh yeah
da partner WILL have a challenge getting
the stuff out
hope i got one with a sence of humor
if i didn't
i could be banned from FUTURE swaps
oh well
cele' vez

stash

so, Channon
my hostess for Spring into Summer & Spring Felted Bag
said to FLASH the STASH
this Brown Sheep Bulky was obtained while i was married
i divorced Dec 91
so, it's been around a while .. not sure why it's on the book shelf
this is some of the kitchen cotton
Sugar'n Cream
Peaches n Creme
Lion Brand

non-feltable
some sock yarn, the kitchen cotton
the bag on the ground
is the DYE Experiment from 2002

this is all feltable
differnet weights and fiber
i am slowly depleting it
i could deplete it faster IF
i had more knitting time

YEAH, i know
i have to get it ALL organized
there is more in boxes in the spare bedroom

smoking

so,
in 1991
at the age of 34
i started smoking
yeah, i know
that's when MOST normal people try to quit
what can i say
i ain't normal
stop LAUGHING Nancy
so
i resolve to quit before the
"HALF CENTURY CELEBRATION"
i actually quit on Sun May 6
after i ran out of cigs
but i have 67 days
till i ABOSOLUTLY want to quit smoking
quitting smoking is easier than eating right
and exercising daily

hehehehehehe

JUST found out the partner for the Tea Swap
HI SALLY
is gonna be "50" sometime in June
NOW i will have to include something
"SPECIAL"
i think i KNOW what i will do
hehehehehehehehehehe
neener, neener ....
someone ELSE that is older than i am

BREAKFAST of Champions

so when i lived in Fort Wayne
i bought the tin of tea @ Firefly
i LOVE Scottish Breakfast
it's how i wake up
sadly to say
i drank it alot & the tea ran out
it did however, last for almost 3 years
i drank other stuff to stretch it out
in Indy
i have found some Scottish Breakfast (loose)
it's almost as good
i can STILL feel the caffeine as it courses through
my veins
it's my FAV Breakfast
the infuser
i bought at Glenbrook Mall in FW
it goes thru the dishwasher
i NEED to find a 2nd one so i
can take one with me when i fly
OTOH
my luck, the loose tea will get confiscated by TSA
when i go thru
will leave the loose tea at home
there are plenty of tea bags to take

Thursday, May 17

also from Mary

Remember,
if you haven't got a smile on your face
and laughter in your heart,
then you're just a sour old fart

from Mary

first the "Cat in the Hat" turns
then Mary
then ME!!!!
i will know how to do it rite by the time
i get there
hehehehehehehhe

people can be RUDE!! -- yup -- a RANT!!

the whole thing with kids
i am almost 50
people ask
do you have kids,
usually followed up by
1) HOW selfish not to have had kids
2) is there something wrong with you
(selfish is emplyed)
had a captain ask not too long ago
with the inference that i was too selfish to have a kid
i told him that according to the BIBLE
children were a blessing in a marriage
meaning I am unmarried, so i should NOT have kids
this is NOT to say
that deeply religious couples necessarily have
a multitude of kids
i have a friend that can't have kids
i told her, before you put your body, mind & spirit
not to mention sanity & monetary resources
thru fertility testing
make sure it's something you BOTH want
the expense will add stress to the situation
the tests are EXTREMELY invasive & personal
it is costly - $12000 is about the norm
so, now when someone asks
do you have kids
before they get a chance for ANYthing else
i tell them the BLUNT truth
NOPE!!
i was pregnant twice
they were both tubals
i lost both my tubes
3 so called "SPECIALISTS" & $15000
and i still couldn't get pregnant
i guess that GOD doesn't want me to be a mom
it shuts them up
in many cases
the pilots never ask me anything again
it's a subject that keeps coming up
in alot of cases
people decide since i didn't have children
i CHOSE it
basically, GOD made the decison
i have to live with it
mostly, i am ok with it
so, before you go making a snide remark when
you see a woman/couple without kids
about the selfishness of being childless
remember
GOD has a plan for each of us
NOT all of us were created to be a parent
it doesn't make sence that some of the parents
on this earth
are lousy & should NOT have been allowed to
procreate

it's 52 degrees

yeah
10:40 AM
it's 52 degrees
at least i don't have to use AC
errands to run

gotta mail the Monthly Dishcloth Swap
hope i don't get a violation
for improper mailing container
the point of life is to HAVE FUN!!!
almost ready to mail the Spring into Summer Dishcloth
heard the postal service REALLY upped the price
of mailing odd sized stuff
so i took the stuff out of the bottle & will
mail in an envelope
it was a PAIN to take out
so, better i took it out
than to upset someone i DON't Know
had i know this
i would NOT have done the Spring into Summer one
in the same fashion
too late - that one goes in a bottle
she WILL have difficulty getting the stuff out
OOOOOPPPPPPPPZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
